A former workshop manufacturing streetlamps as a venue – The Design Gallery at Via Soperga 18 – provides the backdrop for an exhibition for the creations of two Finnish designers based in Italy.

Kristiina Lassus presents her new additions to her luxurious collection of contemporary rugs handcrafted by highly skilled Himalayan artisans using traditional methods and natural materials.

Anne Kyyrö Quinn presents a series of her sculptural wall art pieces, which also function as acoustic elements. All of her pieces are handmade to order in Tuscany, Italy.

Both designers work in the medium of textiles, but their work contrasts in terms of crafting styles: the rugs are hand-knotted and hand-woven, while the wall pieces are constructed by stitching pure wool felts.
Nevertherless, the works of both designers complement each other, exuding sumptuousness in contemporary settings as well as bringing luxury to more traditional ones. Other factors that unify the work of these two designers include sustainability and the patient attention to detail that goes into each piece.
The designers work with interior designers, art consultancies, architects and specifiers, as well as retailors, to fulfil the desires of the end customer.
