Newsletter no.13 – Three New Designs. Aava, Aiku, Eloo

Kristiina Lassus introduced three new designs to her collection of artisan rugs at a well-received Fuorisalone exhibition in her Milan showroom. During Milano Design Week in June, visitors were able to get up close and personal with the new additions: Aava, Aiku and Eloo.

Kristiina’s collection is known for its high-quality, ecological and handcrafted products which are able to stand the test of time: rugs that can be enjoyed not only today, but for generations to come.

The three new patterns adhere to these same principles, arising from Kristiina’s passion for combining ancient traditional hand-knotting techniques with modern design insight. They also use the same high-quality materials which feature across the rest of the collection: hand-spun Tibetan wool, Chinese silk, bamboo silk, natural linen and natural hemp. As with all Kristiina Lassus rugs, the new designs are produced in Nepal under ethical working conditions and ecologically-sound processes.

With its expressive cross-hatching and coffee brown and bronze tones, Aava offers a touch of gilded luxury. Aava is also available in two other colourways: a natural white and natural linen pairing and a light beige and dark brown combination.

Aiku’s irregular, luminous stripes in asymmetric blocks brings relaxed elegance in two colour options: one in a lighter grey and natural hemp and the other in a green-grey and dark brown.

Finally, Eloo’s boldly-drawn lines in shades of greens and greys give movement and vitality to any space.

As Kristiina’s rugs are primarily made to order, the three new designs, as well as any of the existing patterns, are easily customisable in different sizes, materials and colours.
