Newsletter no.11 – Good Design Award. Oona rug

Kristiina Lassus is delighted to announce that the Oona rug was recently recognised with a GOOD DESIGN® Award 2021.

Founded in 1950 by the architects Charles and Ray Eames, Eero Saarinen and director of the industrial design department at the Museum of Modern Art, Edgar Kaufmann Jr., the GOOD DESIGN® awards were initiated to build awareness about contemporary design and to celebrate products and industry leaders across design and manufacturing. Above all, the GOOD DESIGN® awards have sought to honour the yearly achievements of makers and manufacturers in their pursuit of design excellence.

Geometrically inspired, neutral yet elegant Oona is hand knotted in wool and bamboo silk, a more ethical alternative to traditional silk. In the Kristiina Lassus collection, Oona joins Ala—with its striking and sophisticated Art Deco-inspired pattern—which last year was also acknowledged with a GOOD DESIGN® Award.

Oona is now available in five different neutral colourways that complement most furnishings and interiors. In darker tones, Oona comes in a green-brown or a purple grey colour. In lighter shades, Oona comes in a light grey, beige or Tortora grey palette. Like all Kristiina Lassus rugs, Oona is also available for customisation in a range of shades, materials and quality.
