The “Good Design Show Europe 2020”, organized by The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Atheneaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, was recently inaugurated at the European Centre in Athens. The show celebrates the 70th anniversary of the prestigious and highly regarded Good Design Award, including displays of the winning products in the various categories for 2019-2020.
Each year, the desired prize is awarded to designers and creative people who have demonstrated outstanding talent, innovative ideas and design quality, through products that significantly improve daily life and future prospects for everyone and for the planet.
One of the displayed pieces at the Athens show is the Ala BLG carpet, from the RUGS KRISTIINA LASSUS collection, winner of the Good Design Award 2019-2020. The important award highlights the originality of the design, the excellence of the materials and the workmanship – executed by skilled Tibetan artisans, expert in an ancient knotting technique – and a creativity that transforms a decor object into a fascinating and charismatic work, designed to endure. This carpet, hand-made in Nepal, is both extraordinary and unique.
